Many death care businesses will state that they have no hidden fees, which in part is true, kind of...... When reviewing pricing it is necessary to compare "apples to apples" as the saying goes. It is important to make sure that all of the funeral provider's charges are included along with all of the required disbursements and taxes. Further to that, you want to make sure that there are no extra charges for after hour removals of your loved one, removals that require more than one staff member, fees for mandatory identification, fees if you wish to meet in person for the arrangements, mileage fees and even how many proof of death certificates are included. Even though these costs are not hidden, in many cases they are added to your total after you make arrangements. Many funeral homes will have a price for online arrangements only, but if you walk in to their location the price will be much different. That is why we have itemized our pricing below, to ensure you know everything that is included. The last thing we want to do is provide a price to you and then change it when it comes time to sign the paperwork. This package includes everything required from bringing your loved one in to our care from the place of death, completing all of the necessary government documentation and returning the remains along with the proof of death certificates and CPP death benefit/survivor benefit applications, government fees and taxes, as well as a time for gathering at the funeral home to celebrate the life of your loved one. What takes place during this time is up to you and your family. Some of the families we serve wish to have a few hours of time where people can come and go to pay their respects, while others wish to include a ceremony, the choice is up to you. Additional fees may include the cost of a clergy to perform the service, musicians or catering. Our funeral director can provide specific pricing for any of these additional items at your request.
